1. Use this assessment tool to gauge the need for supervisory skills development in your organization.
2. Print or download the assessment into your computer.
3. List managers and supervisors in your organization at the top of the form.
4. Rate each manager and supervisor on each skill area using the following numerical ratings:
   1 = Poor skills or not observed, 2 = Fair, 3 = Good, 4 = Exceptional.
5. Total each column.

SCORING GUIDELINES:

1 - 33 ... Needs help in most basic supervisory skill areas
34 - 42 ... Adequate in most skill areas, ready for targeted supervisory skills development
43 - 48 ... Exceptional management or supervisor skills and can model for others.

Individual scores in the range of 1 - 42 indicate a need for targeted training in skills such as interacting with employees, setting standards and expectations, providing feedback that supports performance improvement, managing violations of conditions of employment.
